Satellite Training Centers

The Division of Surgery at UCT plays a crucial role in providing surgical services not only at Groote Schuur Hospital but also at regional and district hospitals. As part of the medical curriculum, MBChB 6th year students undergo a four-week internship where they rotate through secondary-level surgical units at affiliated hospitals.  Surgical trainees are also placed at these hospitals for key exposure to common surgical pathologies and procedures.
